Job Overview
We seek a proficient Mid to Senior Database Administrator skilled in managing Oracle and PostgreSQL databases both on cloud platforms and on-premises. This role involves comprehensive ownership of installations, sizing, replication, availability, performance monitoring, and daily operations crucial to FinTech and Telecom sectors.
Core Responsibilities
- Executing installation, setup, and administration for Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.
- Overseeing databases deployed in cloud and on-premises infrastructures.
- Conducting accurate sizing, capacity planning, and managing storage resources.
- Setting up and maintaining replication, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery mechanisms.
- Constantly tracking database health, uptime, and operational performance.
- Diagnosing and resolving issues related to database performance, connectivity, replication, and production.
- Managing backup processes, restorations, version upgrades, and database migrations.
- Optimizing queries and enhancing overall database performance.
- Enforcing security policies, controlling access, and managing user permissions.
- Collaborating effectively with application developers, infrastructure teams, and engineers to guarantee seamless database functioning.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Proven practical experience as a Database Administrator.
- Strong command over Oracle and PostgreSQL database systems.
- Proficient in database installation, configuration, capacity planning, and sizing.
- Hands-on expertise with replication, backup and recovery strategies, and high availability setups.
- Familiarity with managing databases across cloud services and physical on-site servers.
- Skilled in troubleshooting and fine-tuning database performance.
- Knowledgeable about database security protocols and disaster recovery techniques.
- Experience maintaining high-traffic and business-critical production database environments.
Preferred Background
Applicants with prior exposure to FinTech, Banking, Payment Systems, or Telecom sectors will have an advantage.
