Overview

Responsibilities
- Manage the entire lifecycle of MongoDB environments including deployment, upgrades, security measures, and maintenance.
- Design and administer Replica Sets and Sharded Clusters to ensure high scalability and availability.
- Proactively monitor production databases and promptly resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Work with development teams to fine-tune queries, indexing, and aggregation frameworks.
- Administer MongoDB Atlas and cloud-hosted databases on AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
- Establish and uphold backup, recovery, failover, and disaster recovery protocols.
- Automate database administration, routine monitoring, and health checks to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields.
- Proven experience managing MongoDB in production, including administration of Replica Sets, Sharding, and clustered architectures.
- Solid expertise with WiredTiger storage engine, indexing strategies, and MongoDB diagnostic utilities.
- Knowledge of performance tuning and troubleshooting within Linux or Unix environments.
- Familiarity with cloud database management on AWS, Azure, or GCP platforms.
- Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting aptitude, and effective communication with stakeholders.
- Experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, or other NoSQL database systems is advantageous.
- Proficiency in automation using Python or Shell scripting.
- Understanding of database security concepts, including TLS/SSL, RBAC, and encryption-at-rest mechanisms.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or MongoDB Ops Manager.
- Exposure to large-scale database migration, modernization, or cloud adoption projects.
