Job description
Role Overview
The Data Scientist - Innovation will be responsible for extracting, transforming, and analyzing data to derive actionable insights and answer complex questions. This role involves conducting hypothesis testing and advanced modeling to support both internal and external clients, as well as the sales teams by delivering data expertise, feasibility assessments, and thorough analysis of stakeholder inquiries. Additionally, the candidate will be tasked with driving the creation and innovation of Comscore's product offerings and leading cross-functional analyst teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead data investigations and ensure successful solution delivery.
- Collaborate closely with senior data analysts, managers, team leads, and client insights staff to ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery of analyses.
- Take complete ownership of analytical research projects.
- Support sales efforts through feasibility reviews and insightful analysis, contributing creative ideas.
- Escalate challenges appropriately and navigate internal teams effectively.
- Act as the principal contact for client insights on all project deliveries.
- Proactively contribute beyond assigned tasks.
- Help develop automation and streamline custom analytics workflows.
- Design technically sound solutions to open-ended client problems that align with business objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in data science, mathematics, engineering, science, or related discipline.
- 2 to 4+ years of relevant experience, particularly with large datasets.
- Strong solution-oriented approach.
- Proficiency with database querying tools such as SQL, Python, and JSON.
- Advanced expertise in Excel.
- Skill in translating SQL queries into shell scripts to facilitate automation and execution.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams.
- Experience researching and adopting new tools and methodologies, including AI, to enhance functionality and productivity.
- Openness to seeking and providing constructive feedback.
- Additional experience with AWS and cloud technologies is advantageous.
- Familiarity with media measurement industry practices is a plus.
Work Schedule
The candidate will generally work a shift aligning with business hours in both the US and India, typically from 2 PM to 11 PM IST. Some meetings may require later hours to accommodate international teams. Initial training and onboarding (approximately 4-6 weeks) may require adherence to US Eastern Time hours (IST minus 9.5 hours).
