Data Scientist

Overview

Under the supervision of the Data Manager for Data Science & Analytics, the Data Scientist plays a vital role in guiding the organization on how to leverage data to gain new business insights. This role applies sophisticated statistical methods, data mining, and visualization techniques to develop solutions that enhance organizational performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop econometric and statistical models addressing various challenges including forecasting, classification, clustering, pattern recognition, sampling, and simulations.
• Establish advanced scientific and technical capabilities within the Data, Analytics & AI department to support ongoing and upcoming data initiatives.
• Offer forward-looking recommendations by deepening understanding of business challenges and data assets related to strategic and value-based projects.
• Perform exploratory data mining on extensive datasets aligned with organizational strategies.
• Produce actionable insights through advanced analytics such as predictive modeling, segmentation, customer profiling, survey analysis, and data mining.
• Work collaboratively with fellow data scientists to communicate challenges and insights to stakeholders, boosting decision-making and business outcomes.
• Champion continuous improvement within the team to ensure efficient engagement and precise service delivery.
• Strictly comply with all relevant policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
• Contribute to project execution ensuring clarity of scope, timely completion, and adherence to delivery standards.
• Ensure audit issues are resolved promptly, typically within the quarter of identification or the agreed timeframe, whichever is shorter.
• Maintain strong stakeholder relationships to satisfy customers and address concerns effectively.
• Maintain current competency assessments and personal development plans actively.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Economics, or closely related quantitative disciplines. Equivalent professional experience is also acceptable.
• Certification in Big Data, Data Science, or Generative AI from recognized institutions.
• Minimum three years of experience in business analysis/informatics and outcome-driven research within a dynamic and complex business environment. Practical knowledge of deploying Generative AI and Agentic AI applications is advantageous.
• Familiarity with probability, statistics, time-series analysis, and econometrics. Hands-on experience with machine learning algorithms such as linear regression and decision trees.
• Proficient in Python programming, cloud data science platforms like AWS SageMaker, and comprehensive understanding of big data ecosystems.
