Responsibilities

• Create and enhance machine learning models focused on fraud detection.
• Implement automated discovery and optimization of fraud detection rules.
• Analyze transactional and behavioral data to uncover suspicious activities.
• Lead all stages of feature engineering, model training, validation, and ongoing monitoring.
• Manage the deployment of models from prototype phase to production environment.
• Effectively communicate insights and outcomes to both technical and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• A degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a similar discipline.
• Two to three years of practical experience in machine learning and applied data science, preferably within fraud detection, banking, or financial services.
• Proficiency in Python programming and SQL querying.
• Strong knowledge of classification and anomaly detection techniques with the capability to choose, tune, and assess models using proper validation and metrics.
• Experience owning full-cycle model development: from handling complex data sets, model creation, visualization, deployment on cloud platforms like GCP, Azure, or AWS, to lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with large language models (LLMs) and agentic workflow implementations.
• Experience using model interpretability tools such as SHAP and model cards.
• Self-motivated, structured approach to work combined with excellent communication skills.
• Fluent English proficiency and professional-level German for engaging in client-facing technical discussions.
