Job Overview
Join Xiaomi Technology as an entry-level Data Scientist based in Singapore. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with senior data scientists on predictive analytics and machine learning projects.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist in developing, prototyping, and validating predictive models and machine learning solutions under experienced supervision.
- Perform comprehensive statistical and exploratory analyses on extensive structured and unstructured data to test hypotheses, identify trends, and discover business opportunities.
- Write efficient SQL queries and develop Python scripts to extract, clean, and engineer features, as well as prepare data pipelines for in-depth modeling and analysis.
- Translate intricate modeling outputs and statistical results into clear data visualizations and interactive self-service analytics tools to aid cross-team decision-making.
- Help create and automate workflows for monitoring data quality, alerting on anomalies, and tracking key metrics to maintain reliable input data for analytics models.
- Collaborate with product, operations, and engineering teams to define project requirements and harmonize essential performance indicators across regional markets.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- A bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong understanding of statistics, probability, regression techniques, and introductory machine learning concepts.
- Proficiency in Python programming, especially with libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn, along with solid SQL skills.
- Knowledge of data engineering principles, ETL processes, and managing large datasets is advantageous.
- Experience or familiarity with modern data visualization and business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Quick BI to effectively communicate insights.
- Capability to support diverse teams in shaping data science requirements and standardizing key metrics across different markets.
