Data Scientist / Data Visualization Analyst

Position Overview

We are seeking a meticulous and insightful Data Scientist / Data Visualization Analyst to join our expanding data team based in Hamburg, Germany. This full-time onsite position involves gathering, processing, and interpreting complex data sets to produce meaningful insights that aid strategic decision-making. You will also design visually engaging and interactive dashboards to effectively communicate findings to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Aggregate, cleanse, and analyze extensive datasets from diverse sources.
• Create dashboards, reports, and dynamic visualizations utilizing business intelligence platforms.
• Employ statistical methods and machine learning techniques for trend detection and insight generation.
• Design and sustain data models supporting analytic and reporting activities.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into analytic solutions.
• Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to management.
• Assist in developing and refining data pipelines and reporting workflows.
• Maintain data accuracy, quality, and consistency across databases.
• Document processes, analytical methods, and technical reports comprehensively.
• Keep abreast of advancements in data science, artificial intelligence, and data visualization tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Technology, Analytics, or related disciplines, or equivalent experience.
• Experience applying data analysis using Python, R, SQL, or similar languages is advantageous.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and visualization software such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
• Basic knowledge of machine learning algorithms and statistical techniques.
• Familiarity with SQL-based databases and warehousing concepts.
• Experience with cloud services like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is favorable.
• Strong analytical reasoning, problem-solving capabilities, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams.
• Fluency in English required; knowledge of German is advantageous but not mandatory.
