Role Overview
We are seeking a full-time, on-site Data Scientist based in Auckland. The selected candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy data-driven models and AI solutions aligned with client objectives. Daily activities include gathering and preprocessing data, conducting exploratory data analysis, building statistical and machine learning models, and generating insightful visualizations and detailed reports for diverse audiences. The role also encompasses working alongside engineers and product teams to deploy models into production, tracking their performance, and refining solutions iteratively based on business input. Additional responsibilities include supporting experimentation, maintaining documentation, and promoting knowledge exchange within the team.
Qualifications and Skills
- Solid grounding in data science and statistical methodologies with demonstrated application to practical problems.
- Proficient in data analytics and analysis tasks including data cleansing, transformation, and interpretation of complex datasets.
- Experience in data visualization techniques to communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Competence in programming with languages such as Python or R and familiarity with associated data science libraries and frameworks.
- Knowledge of machine learning methods, including model assessment and ongoing performance monitoring.
- Academic credentials including a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in quantitative disciplines like Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related fields.
- Ability to work on-site in Auckland, engage in collaborative team settings, and communicate clearly with a variety of stakeholders.
- Exposure to cloud computing platforms, data pipeline architectures, or MLOps strategies is advantageous.
