Job description

About the Role

This is a specialized position for a Data Scientist embedded within Miral Destinations’ AI team, focusing exclusively on projects that advance Miral Destination initiatives. The role involves analyzing destination-specific data, designing and refining AI and ML solutions, and translating findings into strategic business insights that support destination objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Examine Miral Destination datasets to identify meaningful patterns, trends, and opportunities that guide decision-making related to the destination.
  • Create, train, and optimize AI and machine learning models customized for Miral Destination scenarios.
  • Develop Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, manage vector databases, and implement large language model (LLM)-based solutions using Databricks platform tailored for the destination's applications.
  • Produce insightful and clear data visualizations to support Miral Destination’s business goals.
  • Work collaboratively with ML Ops Engineers to ensure smooth transition of models from development stages into production environments, maintaining operational readiness and ongoing monitoring.
  • Translate stakeholder requirements into tangible data science outputs under the guidance of the Senior Manager AI.
  • Comply with enterprise AI architecture, governance, security protocols, and data management standards established by the AI & Data organization.
  • Maintain standards related to data integrity, model accuracy, governance, and responsible AI practices throughout all Miral Destination projects.
  • Partner with various teams including AI, Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, and Enterprise Data within the Department of Tourism and Destinations to leverage shared tools, platforms, assets, and best practices.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of professional experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or advanced analytics roles.
  • Proven track record of deploying machine learning models from experimental phases to production environments.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning techniques.
  • Hands-on expertise in Python programming and working with Databricks platform including MLflow for lifecycle management.
  • Experience in AI model development, fine-tuning, and comprehensive evaluation.
  • Knowledge of advanced concepts such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), large language models (LLMs), and vector database management.
  • Capability to translate complex analyses into straightforward, actionable insights through effective storytelling.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with ML Operations teams to deploy and continuously monitor models.

Educational Requirements

Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
