As a Data Science Manager, you will spearhead analytic initiatives leveraging AI, machine learning, geospatial analysis, and economic models to support data-backed decision making. You will oversee the entire data process from concept to deployment and collaborate with a diverse team of data scientists, economists, and policy professionals to develop impactful solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct data analytics projects focused on public policy and economic issues.
• Design, automate, and enhance data pipelines and analytical procedures.
• Utilize AI, ML, and spatial data techniques to analyze satellite images, trade information, and macroeconomic indicators.
• Create and maintain interactive dashboards, ranking methodologies, and forecasting models.
• Convert complex technical findings into straightforward policy guidance.
• Guide and mentor junior data scientists while ensuring code quality, documentation, and adherence to best practices.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing data projects or small teams.
• Over 5 years of experience working with Python, SQL, and APIs.
• Proficient in machine learning methodologies and predictive modeling.
• Experience with building and managing data pipelines or ETL workflows.
• Skilled in data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalents.
• Strong command of English communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with geospatial datasets and tools (GIS, satellite imagery, GeoPandas, QGIS).
• Experience handling economic or policy related data.
• Background working in consultancy or governmental projects.
• Knowledge of cloud computing platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Advanced degrees in Data Science, Economics, or similar fields are advantageous.
