Job description
Role Overview
The Data Program Manager will oversee the comprehensive delivery of enterprise data initiatives, ensuring adherence to scope, timeline, budget, and quality standards.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of the enterprise data program, from planning through execution, ensuring effective management of project scope, schedule, budget, and deliverable quality.
- Create and update detailed project plans alongside tracking tools such as RAID logs covering risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies.
- Coordinate multiple interdependent teams including data engineering, architecture, analytics, governance, and compliance to ensure seamless collaboration.
- Communicate and align with high-level business stakeholders, data custodians, compliance officers, and technology leads to prioritize initiatives and expectations.
- Lead steering committee sessions, disseminate progress updates regularly, and prepare executive-level reporting materials.
- Oversee financial aspects of the program by monitoring forecasts, expenditures, and deviations from budget plans.
- Manage relationships and contracts with vendors including external system integration partners or data platform service providers.
- Ensure all activities comply with relevant data privacy regulations, internal audits, and information security protocols.
- Support thorough documentation and traceability throughout the data lifecycle operations.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- Demonstrated experience working with cloud-based data platforms such as Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Databricks, and Snowflake.
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks, data cataloging tools like Collibra or Microsoft Purview, and master data management principles.
- Practical understanding and application of Agile methodologies including Scrum or SAFe.
- Proficiency in project management and reporting tools including Azure DevOps, Microsoft Project, and PowerPoint.
