Role Overview
This role functions as the 'middle-office' for the team, spearheading compliance initiatives requiring close cooperation with domestic product and engineering organizations, including projects on data localization, cross-regional compliance site redesign, cookie compliance, and cross-border data transfers. You will take ownership of cross-regional compliance efforts by mapping roadmaps, coordinating multi-stakeholder resources, and ensuring project completion. Collaborating with teams across Southeast Asia, Europe, and beyond, you will help respond to diverse legal demands and lead compliance projects spanning various jurisdictions. Additionally, you will contribute to refining the overseas compliance framework and continuously enhance associated processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage compliance projects involving collaboration with product and engineering teams.
- Drive cross-regional compliance initiatives and coordinate resources towards timely execution.
- Translate compliance requirements into practical, executable solutions alongside technical teams.
- Partner with colleagues from multiple regions to address legal compliance needs and deliver cross-border compliance projects.
- Support ongoing improvement of overseas compliance frameworks and processes.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 5 years of professional experience in data privacy, data compliance, or information security.
- Direct involvement in building or supporting international compliance programs for companies.
- Demonstrated ability to independently lead and execute complex compliance projects from conception to completion.
- Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of Mandarin is advantageous due to collaboration with overseas product and engineering teams.
- Strong skills in project management and working cross-functionally.
