Data Manager

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Data Manager responsible for the daily operations of data collection, management, and analysis within our company. This role ensures data accuracy, integrity, and security while also developing strategies to streamline data management workflows. The Data Manager collaborates cross-functionally to facilitate data-driven decision-making and deliver insights that support business goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee data collection, storage, and management systems, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and security.
• Lead governance and compliance efforts related to data management and AI policies.
• Organize training and guide staff on data and AI best practices and usage.
• Analyze data utilization to generate actionable insights and support decision-making.
• Maintain continuous availability of data platforms and coordinate with teams to address any system issues.
• Provide leadership by managing and mentoring the data team and prioritizing data-related projects.
• Handle the workload of data-related requests and ongoing projects effectively.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related discipline.
• 5 to 8 years of professional experience in data management or similar roles.
• Proven background in data governance, quality management, and data architecture.

Technical Skills

• Proficient with database systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL.
• Experience in data modeling and database schema design.
• Familiar with ETL processes and data integration tools.
• Knowledgeable in data warehousing and big data technologies.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
• Programming and scripting skills in Python, R, and SQL.

Data Governance and Compliance

• Understanding of data privacy legislation (e.g., PDPA).
• Expertise in data quality assurance and architectural standards.
• Optional certification in data management such as CDMP or DAMA is advantageous.

Analytical and Visualization Abilities

• Skill in analyzing and interpreting data for business insights.
• Experience with visualization tools like Tableau and Power BI.
• Strong attention to detail and dedication to quality standards.

Leadership and Collaboration

• Capability to work across IT, business units, and external vendors effectively.

Project and Stakeholder Management

• Experience in managing competing priorities and delivering results under pressure.
• Prior expertise in project management and problem-solving.

Communication

• Ability to communicate clearly and credibly with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal skills to foster team engagement and collaboration.

Additional Information

Holding certifications such as CDMP or DAMA in data management is a plus and will be regarded favourably.
