Data Management Officer

Role Overview

As a member of the Hardware & ILS team, the Data Management Officer plays a critical role in providing comprehensive document and data management services across Saab's programs and projects. This position works collaboratively with project and engineering teams to ensure that all data, documents, and media are correctly catalogued, securely maintained, and easily accessible.

Key Responsibilities

• Receiving, registering, controlling, and distributing documentation, data, and media from customers and suppliers.
• Managing the distribution processes for controlled documents, data, and media.
• Handling the receipt and dispatch of Defence Safe Hand items.
• Organizing, indexing, and retrieving records to meet business and project demands.
• Preparing, registering, and dispatching documents, data, and media for delivery or archiving.
• Monitoring and reporting on approved configuration changes affecting work products.
• Supporting software release activities by generating status reports, Configuration Item Records (CIRs), and release documentation.

Work Arrangements

Flexible working options, including hybrid arrangements with remote work and a 9-day fortnight schedule, are considered for this role.

Candidate Profile

• Possess at least three years of experience in the defence industry, ideally within project or product engineering management teams.
• Demonstrated aptitude in liaising effectively with internal customers.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel among other computer applications.
• Experience managing both digital and physical data in an engineering setting.
• Familiarity with Defence Safe Hand protocols and practices.
• Skilled in using data management databases for registering, controlling, and distributing documentation and media.

Eligibility and Security Requirements

Applicants must be Australian citizens, capable of obtaining an Australian Defence Security Clearance at NV1 level. Verification of nationality and citizenship details may be required to comply with export control regulations such as ITAR.
