About ASMO
ASMO is an innovative collaboration between DHL and Aramco, combining DHL’s expertise in logistics with Aramco’s wide-reaching supply chain network. Our mission is to establish a new standard in procurement and supply chain operations to foster growth. Currently focusing on serving Saudi Aramco and its affiliates, ASMO plans to expand its services across all industrial sectors within Saudi Arabia and into the wider MENA region.
Role Purpose
This position is responsible for supporting the creation and enforcement of quality assurance standards and governance policies for data management at ASMO. The specialist will oversee technology standards compliance and work to ensure high data quality, helping the organization to utilize data effectively for business success.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and manage ASMO's data governance and data quality strategies aligned with industry best practices.
- Design and circulate data quality policies, procedures, and guidelines across all business units to ensure proper data usage and maintenance.
- Lead efforts managing personal data protection compliance within ASMO.
- Monitor and assess current data quality, identify issues and root causes, and resolve data-related problems efficiently.
- Develop and execute data quality improvement projects, measuring performance against targets.
- Define scopes for data quality programs and launch innovative initiatives organization-wide.
- Set up controls and processes for data management information in adherence to organizational frameworks.
- Drive implementation of data quality roadmaps, adapting processes, personnel, and technologies as needed.
- Manage data quality projects end-to-end, tracking progress and communicating results.
- Continuously refine data governance processes, techniques, and tools to enhance data quality across ASMO.
- Integrate feedback from external technology auditors to maintain compliance of technology systems.
- Stay informed on Saudi Arabian data protection legislation and industry standards to ensure legal compliance.
- Apply robust cybersecurity practices to safeguard data from theft, breaches, or loss, embedding these protections within data governance frameworks.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer (CDPSE) certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in data governance or a related field.
- Practical knowledge of all domains of the National Data Management Office (NDMO) in Saudi Arabia.
- Proven expertise conducting National Data Index (NDI) assessments, including preparing evidence, analyzing gaps, and implementing remediation plans.
- Experience developing and enforcing data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and operational models.
- Strong understanding of data ownership, stewardship, classification, quality, metadata management, data cataloging, and lifecycle management.
- Good grasp of the Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) and data privacy, protection, and sharing requirements.
- Ability to coordinate data governance initiatives across business, IT, cybersecurity, legal, risk, and compliance teams.
- Competence conducting data maturity assessments, gap analysis, and improvement planning.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, capable of effectively presenting data governance topics to senior management.
- Familiarity with DAMA-DMBOK framework and/or relevant data governance tools and platforms is an advantage.
