Data Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a Data Engineer to join a rapidly growing B2B SaaS company specializing in AI-powered products for the iGaming sector. This fully remote position requires candidates to be based within the GMT+4 time zone. The role involves hands-on work with real-time, near-real-time, and batch data pipelines supporting products relating to personalisation, recommendation engines, fraud detection, and AI/ML implementations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines across batch, near-real-time, and real-time environments.
• Create production-ready pipelines using technologies such as Kafka, Spark, Databricks, PySpark, and Airflow.
• Design and optimize data modeling and distributed processing workflows for large-volume datasets.
• Collaborate closely with Data Science and Backend Engineering teams to enable ML, personalisation, recommendation, and fraud detection solutions.
• Enhance testing, monitoring, reliability, and overall performance of production data systems.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues, contributing to the platform's stability and scalability.

Candidate Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in Data Engineering or software engineering with a data focus.
• Expertise in Python and PySpark programming.
• Proficient in Kafka and stream processing applications.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks platform.
• Familiarity with Apache Airflow or equivalent orchestration tools.
• Skilled in SQL, data modeling, and working with relational databases.
• Strong foundation in software engineering principles including testing, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and ensuring production reliability.
• Additional desirable experience includes Flink, ML pipeline development, MLOps, feature stores, Generative AI, Docker, Kubernetes, or industry experience in iGaming.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary: USD 4500 to 5500 per month, depending on experience, plus a discretionary annual bonus.
• Fully remote work arrangement, with requirement to reside within the GMT+4 timezone.
• 30 days of paid annual leave.
