Role Overview
We are looking for experienced Data Engineers to join our Data & Analytics development group. This role is integral to a significant data modernization program aiming to transition our analytics platform from Oracle to Microsoft Fabric. The position involves cooperation within an Agile team across several coordinated work streams in a dynamic delivery environment.
Main Job Functions
- Assist in migrating semantic data models into Microsoft Fabric using lift-and-shift techniques.
- Design, develop, and refine data pipelines ensuring efficiency and reliability.
- Develop and maintain metadata-driven ingestion and orchestration frameworks to streamline data workflows.
- Conduct integration testing to uphold data quality standards and system robustness.
- Manage data replication tasks transferring data from Oracle databases to Microsoft Fabric.
- Contribute to the development of data models supporting analytics and reporting needs.
- Participate in implementing Microsoft Purview capabilities, including data scanning, cataloging, and governance facilitation.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support the data modernization program objectives.
- Operate within an Agile framework to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer with practical skills in Microsoft Fabric.
- Expertise in designing and building data pipelines.
- Strong background in data modeling tailored for analytics and reporting.
- Experience with modern cloud-based data platforms, specifically data warehouse and lakehouse architectures.
- Prior work within Agile development teams.
Preferred Experience
- Knowledge of metadata-driven ingestion frameworks and orchestration solutions.
- Hands-on experience with Fabric mirroring features and data replication tools.
- A background in data platform modernization projects.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Purview functionalities including scanning, cataloguing, and governance.
- Experience working with Oracle databases.
