Data Engineer

Overview

Infosys, a global leader in next-generation digital services and consulting, is seeking experienced Data Engineers to join our expanding team in Hyderabad, India. This role offers involvement in large-scale digital transformation projects, engaging with international stakeholders to tackle complex business problems and deploy innovative technology solutions. Candidates with backgrounds in consumer goods, manufacturing, retail, or similar industries are highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior data engineers within the team.
• Architect, build, and maintain robust data ingestion pipelines for enterprise-grade systems.
• Design, implement, and refine data transformations, models, and analytics frameworks using modern data engineering technology stacks.
• Utilize Databricks and cloud-based platforms to deliver scalable and efficient data solutions.
• Ensure adherence to high standards of data quality, governance, security, and regulatory compliance throughout data processes.

Required Skills and Experience

• Extensive expertise in data engineering within enterprise settings, especially using OneSource 2.0 / One House & DTU practices.
• Proficiency in Databricks environment including Spark (both SQL and PySpark) and Delta Lake technologies.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure Data Factory and Azure ecosystem components.
• Familiarity with Snowflake and Informatica tools is advantageous.
• Strong skills in data modeling for analytics including the design of fact and dimension tables and medallion architecture.
• Comfortable working with configuration-as-code processes, version control through GitHub, and continuous integration / continuous deployment (CI-CD) pipelines.
• Capability to integrate data from ERP, finance, and commercial systems such as SAP.

Leadership and Collaboration

• Serve as a recognized technical authority in the team, providing tactical leadership though not people-management.
• Coach junior engineers and explain technical design decisions when faced with alternative solutions.
• Collaborate closely under the direction of the Chapter Manager, without responsibility for capacity planning or setting departmental standards.

Eligibility and Education

Applicants should hold a B.Tech or B.E. degree in Computer Science and Engineering, Computer Science and Business Systems, or Information Technology.
