About the Role
Synchro is collaborating with a distinguished boutique fashion retail brand to find a skilled Data Engineer who will spearhead the advancement of their current data platform. This pivotal role involves working collaboratively across departments to shape data strategy, design scalable data architectures, and leverage AI to transform modern data operations.
Responsibilities and Skills Required
- Design and evolve large-scale data platform architectures tailored to retail and e-commerce.
- Utilize advanced data modeling and SQL expertise to deliver customer insights and support machine learning initiatives.
- Implement and maintain data transformation from source systems using dbt and modern cloud data warehouses such as Google BigQuery.
- Work extensively with BI tools including Power BI, Looker, Qlik, Preset, or Superset to provide actionable business intelligence.
- Engage with stakeholders effectively to bridge technical knowledge gaps and communicate complex data concepts in an accessible way.
- Employ AI-assisted development tools and apply Python (or another programming language) for data engineering tasks.
Additional Information
This position is based in Clapham, South West London, offering a hybrid working model that requires being onsite around two to three days per week. The annual salary ranges between £70,000 and £80,000 and includes additional benefits. Ideal candidates should have prior experience in the ecommerce, retail, or fashion sectors and exhibit strong stakeholder management capabilities.
