Responsibilities
- Architect and develop data platforms, pipelines, and integrations customized to specific client environments and goals.
- Implement batch and real-time data processing systems at scale.
- Engage directly with clients to gather requirements, manage expectations, and provide expert guidance on data architecture and engineering best practices.
- Quickly learn and adopt new cloud platforms, tools, and frameworks according to project demands.
- Enhance client team capabilities via knowledge sharing and promotion of sound engineering practices.
- Ensure the incorporation of security, governance, and quality standards within delivered solutions.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong fundamentals in data or software engineering with the ability to produce clean, well-tested, and production-grade code.
- Competent in multiple programming languages, with a preference for Python.
- Hands-on experience utilizing cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and/or Microsoft Azure, including proficiency with cloud-native services.
- Solid expertise in SQL, databases or data warehouses, data modeling, and data storage design patterns.
- Familiarity with containerization, continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD), and infrastructure-as-code methodologies.
- Exceptional communication skills capable of translating technical concepts to non-technical audiences and effectively managing client collaborations.
- A curious and adaptable mindset with enthusiasm for learning new technologies and thriving across varied projects.
Experience
- A minimum of five years of professional experience in data engineering, software engineering, or related areas.
- Consulting or professional services experience is advantageous but not mandatory. Strong communication skills can open opportunities to develop these further.
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science or a related discipline.
