About the Role
Join our security team partnering with an ASX 100-listed technology company that offers cutting-edge data centre outsourcing solutions. As a Data Centre Security Officer, you will be pivotal in preserving the integrity of sensitive data and ensuring exceptional service as the initial point of contact for visitors and contractors. The role includes a 4 on 4 off rotational schedule covering both day and night shifts located in Canberra's CBD.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular security patrols to deter unauthorized entry or suspicious activities, including physical, video, nightly full-site video, and buddy patrols.
- Screen all personnel entering or leaving restricted areas to ensure compliance.
- Monitor facility alarms and security systems such as Class 5 alarms, security portal resets, and duress alarms, and respond to incidents appropriately.
- Act as first responder during incidents and emergencies, including provision of First Aid.
- Manage keys/cards and operate Access Control and Visitor Management Systems efficiently.
- Detect and prevent prohibited items from entering or exiting restricted zones.
- Complete thorough shift reports and handover notes to the Customer Service and Security Supervisor.
- Conduct both physical patrols on foot and virtual patrols via CCTV, reporting any hazards or incidents identified.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Must possess AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance.
- Australian Citizenship and full working rights in ACT mandatory.
- Current Security License (Class 1A or equivalent) compulsory.
- Proficient with IT systems related to security access and control.
- Strong communication and keen observational abilities.
- Demonstrated customer service skills, capable of handling multiple tasks.
- Experience in conflict resolution, negotiation, and intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Committed to company policies, punctuality, and upholding a culture of safety and compliance.
- Experience in report writing, site patrol duties, and communication via two-way radios.
