About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Center Design and Engineering Manager specializing in electrical engineering to lead complex data center projects for a global leader. This role involves overseeing the entire electrical design process from initial concept through detailed design, construction support, and final closeout, with the flexibility of remote work and up to 25% travel to key international locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct the electrical design scope as the Design Manager across multiple data center projects, ensuring design quality and timely delivery.
  • Maintain active involvement in electrical design tasks, providing technical leadership and taking ownership of critical mission-critical infrastructure elements.
  • Lead and coordinate the efforts of electrical engineers and subject matter experts within multidisciplinary design teams on both large and small scale projects.
  • Oversee design deliverables, manage resource allocation, scheduling, and uphold quality standards for assigned projects.
  • Offer expert technical advice and mentorship to the Data Center Design & Engineering team.
  • Establish, implement, and maintain electrical design quality standards, procedures, and best practices across projects.
  • Review and approve electrical designs, calculations, technical reports, and specifications, facilitating formal peer reviews where necessary.
  • Serve as the technical lead representing the client, participating actively in meetings with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Steer project teams through value engineering, option analysis, and critical technical decisions.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • Between 7 to 12 years in a similar capacity as a lead or senior electrical design engineer.
  • Experience delivering comprehensive electrical engineering services for mission-critical facilities, including medium and low-voltage power distribution systems, transformers, UPS, and standby generators.
  • Proficient knowledge of relevant electrical codes, standards, and industry best practices.
  • Demonstrated capability in value engineering and integrating new technologies for reliable and cost-efficient solutions.
  • Comfortable working remotely and willing to travel up to 25% internationally.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit software is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies such as edge computing and artificial intelligence.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strategic mindset with drive for long-term innovation and team development.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering; Master’s preferred.
