Role Overview

We are seeking a meticulous and analytical Data Analyst to join our Data & Business Intelligence department in Nairobi, Kenya. This full-time role reports directly to the Business Development Manager and plays a key role in transforming business data into actionable insights to drive better decision-making, operational efficiency, and company growth.

Primary Responsibilities

• Gather, clean, and organize data from various company operations.
• Create regular reports and dashboards tailored for management and specific teams.
• Examine sales, customer, logistics, transportation, and operational data for performance insights.
• Monitor KPIs to detect trends and highlight areas needing attention.
• Provide data-backed recommendations to support business planning and strategic decisions.
• Identify growth opportunities through customer and sales data analysis.
• Track operational metrics such as costs, turnaround times, and logistics efficiency.
• Spot inefficiencies and suggest process improvements.
• Maintain precise datasets and ensure reliable reporting systems.
• Automate frequent reporting tasks and enhance data processes when feasible.
• Convert complex datasets into clear, actionable summaries understandable by all teams.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Finance, and others to meet data needs.
• Assist in forecasting, budgeting, and evaluating business performance.
• Conduct bespoke analyses and prepare reports upon request.
• Uphold standards of data accuracy, confidentiality, and security.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Proven background as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or relevant analytical role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related areas.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
• Experience with visualization and dashboard software such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker Studio is favorable.
• Familiarity with SQL and database concepts is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Effective communication skills to explain insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong organizational and time-management capabilities.
• Ability to work autonomously while managing multiple analytical projects.
• Understanding of business metrics and commercial data is advantageous.
• Prior experience in logistics, freight, transportation, supply chain, or other data-intensive industries is beneficial.
