Position Overview

Pharma Q is looking for a meticulous Master Data Specialist | Data Management Analyst to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of master data throughout the organization. This role plays a critical part in data governance, quality management, process optimization, and cross-department collaboration to maintain reliable business information for both operational and analytical purposes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee master data administration across various business systems, databases, and enterprise applications.
  • Create, update, validate, and sustain master records based on defined protocols and procedures.
  • Manage master data related to customers, suppliers, products, materials, employees, financials, and other relevant domains.
  • Evaluate data requests and verify that new or modified master records comply with established criteria.
  • Conduct data cleansing, validation, standardization, enrichment, and removal of duplicate entries.
  • Detect and address inaccurate, incomplete, duplicated, inconsistent, or outdated master data.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to resolve data quality issues and implement corrective measures.
  • Define and apply data quality rules, validation checks, and monitoring mechanisms.
  • Track key metrics related to data quality and generate periodic reports for stakeholders.
  • Analyze master data structures to identify inconsistencies and opportunities for enhancement.
  • Support data governance initiatives ensuring adherence to organizational policies.
  • Maintain documentation, including data dictionaries, business definitions, metadata, and reference data.
  • Establish and document standard data management procedures, workflows, and controls.
  • Collaborate with business users to clarify data requirements and troubleshoot data issues.
  • Partner with IT and application teams to facilitate master data configuration, integration, and system modifications.
  • Support enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, supply chain, finance, and procurement relying on master data.
  • Coordinate master data creation and upkeep across multiple systems and business units.
  • Examine data dependencies and anticipate the impact of changes to master data.
  • Assist in data migration, system deployments, data consolidation, and transformation initiatives.
  • Perform data mapping and reconciliation between source and destination systems.
  • Develop dashboards and reports for monitoring data completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Automate repetitive data management and validation tasks where feasible.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis for repeated data quality challenges and propose improvements.
  • Implement approval and control processes for critical or sensitive master data changes.
  • Ensure data management requests are handled within agreed service levels.
  • Support audit processes by supplying evidence of data controls, approvals, and maintenance activities.
  • Train business personnel on master data standards, entry procedures, and quality expectations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of business and customer data throughout handling.
  • Engage in data governance meetings and contribute to ongoing improvements.
  • Keep updated with emerging data management technologies, governance methods, and industry standards.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Management, Business Analytics, Statistics, Finance, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience in master data management, data analysis, data quality assurance, or governance.
  • Comprehensive understanding of master data concepts, data lifecycle management, quality controls, and governance frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience managing structured data across ERP, CRM, or other enterprise platforms.
  • Familiarity with master data domains including customers, suppliers, products, materials, finance, and organizational data.
  • Expertise in data validation, cleansing, standardization, and reconciliation techniques.
  • Proven ability to identify and resolve issues such as duplicates, incomplete, inconsistent, or erroneous data.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and experience handling large datasets effectively.
  • Knowledge of SQL and database principles is a plus.
  • Experience with data visualization and reporting tools like Power BI or Tableau is advantageous.
  • Exposure to ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalents is preferred.
  • Understanding of CRM and enterprise application data structures is beneficial.
  • Experience in data migration, integration, or system implementation projects adds value.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving aptitude.
  • High attention to detail ensuring data accuracy.
  • Capability to investigate complex data quality problems and implement corrective actions.
  • Thorough knowledge of data governance principles and quality assurance controls.
  • Skilled in documenting data definitions, business rules, workflows, and policies.
  • Excellent communication and ability to manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Collaborative mindset to work with IT, Finance, Operations, Procurement, Sales, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Effective organizational and multitasking abilities to handle multiple data projects.
  • Familiarity with data privacy, confidentiality, access controls, and information security standards.
  • Experience with data-quality software, master data management tools, or governance platforms is a bonus.
  • Proactive in detecting and preventing data quality issues.
  • Relevant certifications in data management, governance, analytics, or related areas are beneficial.
