Cyber Security Architect

Position Overview

This role is primarily based in Adelaide, with Melbourne as an alternative location. BAE Systems offers flexible working arrangements including options like a 9-day fortnight.

Role Responsibilities

• Offer security guidance throughout project phases, ensuring alignment with risk profiles and compliance standards.
• Collaborate with Digital, Data, and Cyber teams to advance towards a Modern Defensible Architecture.
• Provide expert security advice and input on system designs spanning Cloud, Web, Application, IT, IoT, and Operational Technology domains.
• Lead Threat Modeling and risk assessments within the Surface Ships division.
• Continuously monitor and suggest improvements to the Surface Ships ICT security stance.
• Partner with the Cyber Security Manager to devise security architectures supporting business strategy and adherence to security principles.
• Ensure cyber architecture documentation is consistent across the business, mentor colleagues, and offer security counsel as a senior team member.

Candidate Profile

• Experience spanning Identity, Network Security, Cloud Security, Infrastructure, Operating Systems, and Applications.
• Familiarity with Operational Technology is preferred.
• Knowledge of the Information Security Manual (ISM) and global standards like NIST, ISO, PCI DSS applicable to ICT security.
• Competency in Enterprise and Security Architecture frameworks such as SABSA and TOGAF.
• Proven capability advising on secure design and implementation in project delivery.
• Professional security certifications such as CISSP or CISM are advantageous.
• A tertiary degree in ICT or Engineering fields is desirable.
• Must hold or be eligible for Defence NV1 security clearance.
• Must be eligible for clearance under International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
