Export Control Officer

Overview

The Export Control Officer will be responsible for ensuring strict adherence to all Company Export Control policies and procedures at the Eurofighter Typhoon Main Operating Base (MoB) in Doha, Qatar, while complying with all applicable Export Control laws and regulations. Reporting operationally and functionally to the Qatar Export Control Manager, this role may involve varied or alternative duties depending on qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing the Export Control framework at the Dukhan airbase.
• Serve as the main point of contact for daily advice and guidance on Export Control regulatory and procedural requirements.
• Participate in assurance activities for all Main Operating Base departments, including both internal and external audits.
• Conduct Export Control investigations, compose disclosure letters, recommend corrective measures, and lead root cause analyses and lessons learned sessions.
• Identify Export Control risks, formulate mitigation strategies, and contribute to risk reviews.
• Develop and conduct local export control training programs.

• Provide valuable contributions as a specialist advisor in a critical area of expertise.
• Carry out thorough investigations, identify root causes accurately, and agree on clear, achievable corrective actions with projects.
• Maintain respect for the Export Control team internally and from customers, ensuring involvement in key decisions involving export/import issues.
• Exhibit excellent attention to detail.
• Demonstrate strong influence and engagement with key stakeholders throughout the organization.

Functional and Business Expertise

• Preferably possess knowledge of Export Control laws and the practical application of those regulations to business activities.
• Recommended to have an understanding of the company’s products, services, software, technical information, and their relation to pertinent control lists.

Key Accountabilities

• Support Export Control compliance activities at the Main Operating Base facility.
• Assist with Export Control assurance efforts nationwide, providing clear visibility on audit results, corrective actions, and improvement status according to stakeholder requirements.
• Collaborate and influence stakeholders across the organization to meet strategic Export Control goals.
• Prepare and present relevant reports to demonstrate Export Control performance to diverse stakeholders.

Requirements

• Typically requires a degree qualification or equivalent relevant business experience.
