Customs Broker

Role Overview

As a Customs Broker at FedEx Australia, you will be handling the entire customs clearance process with a strong emphasis on compliance, precision, and excellent customer service. You will work closely with clients, internal operational departments, and government bodies to ensure smooth import and export procedures.

Primary Duties

• Manage lodging of import and export declarations along with overseeing customs entries from initiation through completion.
• Ensure correct tariff classification, valuation, and application of Australian customs, quarantine, and other relevant regulations.
• Examine, verify, and interpret shipping and customs paperwork to confirm correctness and compliance.
• Provide advisory services focused on duty reduction techniques, tariff concessions, and duty drawback guidance.
• Coordinate with clients, freight and transport teams internally, as well as governmental agencies.
• Effectively handle multiple shipments and meet strict deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Valid Licensed Customs Broker certification is mandatory.
• Demonstrated experience in managing import/export customs clearance operations.
• In-depth knowledge of Australian customs law, tariff classifications, and valuation methods.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in work output.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Capability to collaborate effectively with customs, freight forwarding, and transport teams.
