Position Overview
Joining Walmart Canada as a Customer Service Manager offers a dynamic opportunity to develop strong leadership and operational capabilities within a fast-paced retail environment. This role involves leading front-end operations to ensure outstanding customer service, promote a positive shopping atmosphere, and foster customer loyalty. You will also play a crucial role in enforcing company policies and operational procedures to maximize store efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Enforce safety protocols, emergency procedures, and proper lifting techniques while keeping work areas clean, managing register operations, responding to alarm codes, and supporting theft prevention and evacuation initiatives.
- Address and resolve customer and associate concerns professionally to sustain a positive front-end experience.
- Oversee front-end activities including staffing coverage, scheduling breaks, and supporting additional registers to maintain smooth customer flow.
- Train staff on systems, company policies, scanning accuracy, productivity goals, discount programs, electronic article surveillance (EAS), and safety standards.
- Monitor transaction processes such as purchases, returns, and exchanges; authorize transactions as needed; correct errors; and ensure compliance with company guidelines.
- Verify proper operation of EAS systems by ensuring cashiers deactivate merchandise correctly, greeters handle alarms, and relevant logs are maintained accurately.
- Manage cash registers by preparing them for opening and closing, supplying change when necessary, maintaining cash levels, and auditing for accuracy.
- Promote company initiatives including credit services, protection plans, charitable programs, and discount offers for associates and customers.
- Demonstrate flexibility by working various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays to support business needs and customer satisfaction.
Challenges in the Role
- Effectively handle a high volume of tasks in a fast-paced setting, including managing overnight shifts while maintaining energy and focus.
- Complete extensive restocking and recovery duties accurately and on schedule.
- Perform physically demanding tasks such as prolonged standing, bending, and lifting inventory or equipment up to 20 lbs regularly, and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Consistently carry out repetitive duties like stocking, zoning, and product organization with attention to detail to uphold store standards.

Compensation
The starting hourly wage for this position is $18.55.
