Job description
Role Overview
Join our team as a Customer Delivery Driver, delivering premium Waitrose products while embodying our Partner-led customer service philosophy. When not driving, you'll assist the in-store team with stock replenishment and general housekeeping, contributing to smooth shop operations within a supportive team environment. This position requires candidates to be at least 18 years old.
Primary Duties
- Begin each day at the store by reviewing delivery routes.
- Load and prepare delivery vehicles, ensuring all customer orders are complete and organized for efficient distribution.
- Carry out all necessary vehicle safety inspections, maintaining compliance with road safety and health regulations.
- Represent the Waitrose brand on the road by providing exceptional customer service and fostering positive relationships with customers.
- Assist customers with their shopping needs, building trust and rapport.
- Support store colleagues with shop maintenance and general housekeeping tasks as needed.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Hold a full, valid UK manual driving licence (category B) with no more than six penalty points.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service capabilities.
- Possess effective time management skills.
- Physically capable of handling requirements such as lifting crates and moving cages.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working independently.
- Basic IT proficiency.
Preferred Experience
- Previous driving experience, ideally with chilled delivery vehicles.
