Job Overview
As a Customer Delivery Driver representing Tesco in Shepton Mallet, you will be the key point of contact for customers receiving their shopping at home. This role involves much more than just driving; it requires delivering excellent service with a friendly attitude. The position is active, hands-on, and full of daily variety, often working independently while having support from your team at the store.
Working Hours
- Monday: 07:00 to 19:00
- Tuesday: 13:00 to 23:00
- Wednesday: 13:00 to 22:00
- Saturday: 07:00 to 19:00
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of your van, trays, and workspace to ensure orders arrive in perfect condition.
- Load the delivery vehicle safely and perform thorough checks to guarantee it's roadworthy and dependable.
- Communicate with customers regarding any order modifications, substitutions, or approaching expiry dates, handling refunds when necessary to ensure a smooth experience.
- Handle products carefully to safeguard quality and build customer trust.
- Ensure deliveries are made within the assigned time slots, providing warm, personable service and making customers feel appreciated.
Requirements
- Build positive relationships with colleagues to promote team spirit and outstanding customer service.
- Be hospitable and approachable to customers and fellow team members.
- Adapt quickly to changing customer demands and embrace dynamic conditions both on the road and at the store.
- Possess a valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic) held for at least 12 months, with no more than three penalty points.
