Customer Delivery Driver

Role Overview

As a Customer Delivery Driver at Tesco, you represent the company on the road, visiting customers at their homes daily. This position encompasses more than just driving; it involves supporting customers and delivering outstanding service with a friendly attitude. The role is active, varied, and independent for much of the workday, though assistance from managers and colleagues is always available at the depot.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of your van, trays, and workspace to ensure every order arrives in pristine condition.
• Load the van carefully and perform all necessary safety and maintenance checks to guarantee it’s roadworthy and reliable for deliveries.
• Communicate kindly and clearly with customers about any changes to their orders, substitutions, or short-dated products, offering refunds when appropriate to ensure a smooth customer experience.
• Handle products with utmost care, treating all orders as personal to uphold trust and quality.
• Deliver within scheduled time slots, providing warm and genuine service at customers’ doorsteps to make them feel valued and cared for.

Candidate Requirements

• Ability to build strong working relationships with team members to promote a positive team spirit and enhance customer service.
• A warm, welcoming demeanor toward customers and colleagues alike.
• Adaptability to rapidly changing customer requirements and willingness to embrace change whether on the road or at the store.
• Possession of a valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic) held for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
