About the Role
As the representative of Tesco on the roads, Customer Delivery Drivers engage with customers directly at their homes. This position involves much more than just driving; it's about delivering excellent customer service with a friendly attitude. The role is physically active, hands-on, and varied, ensuring that no two shifts are identical. While you will operate independently for the majority of the day, a supportive team of managers and colleagues is available at the home base whenever assistance is needed.
Working Hours
- Sunday: 09:00 to 13:00
- Monday: 06:00 to 10:00
- Tuesday: 19:00 to 23:00
- Wednesday: 19:00 to 23:00
- Friday: 19:00 to 23:00
- Saturday: 19:00 to 23:00
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of your van, trays, and workspace to ensure customers receive their shopping in top condition.
- Load the delivery vehicle safely and carry out necessary inspections to confirm it is roadworthy and reliable.
- Communicate clearly and kindly with customers regarding order adjustments, substitutions, or near-expiry products, providing refunds when necessary to ensure a smooth, positive experience.
- Handle all products carefully, treating each order as your own to uphold quality standards and customer trust.
- Deliver orders punctually within the customer's allocated time slot, offering friendly and genuine service at their doorstep, leaving customers feeling appreciated and well cared for.
Candidate Requirements
- Develop strong collaborative relationships with team members to foster a positive working environment and deliver excellent customer service.
- Be approachable and warm towards both customers and coworkers.
- Adapt swiftly to evolving customer demands and embrace changes encountered on the road and at the store.
- Possess a valid UK, EU, or EEA driving license (full or automatic) held for at least 12 months, with no more than three penalty points.
