Job description
Role Overview
As a Customer Delivery Driver at Tesco, you will be the essential link between the store and customers, delivering their orders right to their doorstep with professionalism and a friendly attitude. The role requires physical activity and offers a dynamic work experience, with shifts varying day to day. You will mainly work independently on the road, supported by managers and teammates when needed.
Working Hours
- Sunday: 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM
- Monday: 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM
- Friday: 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM
- Saturday: 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the delivery van, trays, and workspace to ensure customer orders arrive in perfect condition.
- Load the van safely and carry out thorough checks to ensure the vehicle is roadworthy and reliable for deliveries.
- Communicate effectively with customers about any order changes, substitutions, or nearing expiry items in a polite and reassuring manner, facilitating refunds when necessary to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Handle all products with care to protect quality and uphold customer trust.
- Deliver orders punctually within scheduled customer time slots, offering warm, natural service that leaves customers feeling appreciated.
Candidate Requirements
- Foster strong team relationships with colleagues to build a positive and cooperative working environment.
- Exude a warm, welcoming demeanor toward both customers and coworkers.
- Adapt quickly to changing customer demands and embrace flexibility in working conditions both on the road and at the store.
- Possess a valid full UK/EU/EEA driving licence (manual or automatic) held for at least one year, with no more than three penalty points.

- Competitive hourly pay starting at £14.18, rising to £15.45 within M25 locations; some sites may add extra payments.
- A guaranteed minimum of 16 working hours weekly, with some roles offering 12 hours.
