Customer Delivery Driver - Basildon Pitsea Extra

Role Overview

As a Customer Delivery Driver for Tesco in Basildon, you will be the friendly face representing the company on the road. This position involves more than just driving; it requires helping customers and ensuring outstanding service during home deliveries. Each day brings different tasks, combining physical work with varied challenges. Drivers operate independently while having the backing of a dedicated management and support team at the base.

Work Schedule and Availability

• Sunday: 7 PM to 11 PM
• Wednesday: 7 PM to 11 PM
• Friday: 7 PM to 11 PM
• Saturday: 7 PM to 11 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of your delivery van, trays, and workspace to ensure customers receive orders in pristine condition.
• Load the van securely and carry out all safety checks to guarantee reliability and safe service.
• Communicate clearly and courteously with customers about any order updates, substitutions, or items near expiry, offering refunds when necessary to ensure a positive experience.
• Handle all products with care, treating every order as if it were your own to uphold quality and customer confidence.
• Deliver orders punctually within the customer's time slot, providing warm and genuine service to make customers feel appreciated.

Requirements

• Develop strong relationships with colleagues to foster excellent teamwork and enhance customer service.
• Be approachable and warm with both customers and team members.
• Adapt quickly to changing customer demands and be flexible in work both on the road and at the store.
• Possess a valid UK, EU, or EEA driving license (full or automatic) held for at least 12 months with no more than three penalty points.
