Role Overview
In the role of Customer Delivery Driver, you act as the personal face of Tesco by delivering groceries directly to customers' homes. This position goes beyond just driving; it centers on providing excellent service with friendliness while handling physical and varied tasks, often working alone but supported by a team at the store base.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of your van, delivery trays, and work area to ensure every shopping order arrives in pristine condition.
- Load your delivery vehicle safely and carry out all necessary checks to confirm it is roadworthy and reliable for daily deliveries.
- Communicate kindly with customers regarding any changes or substitutions in their orders, including handling refunds when needed to maintain a positive experience.
- Exercise care when managing products, treating each order with respect to uphold quality and customer confidence.
- Deliver orders promptly within the assigned time slot, offering a warm and genuine service at the doorstep, leaving customers feeling valued.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess a valid UK, EU, or EEA driving licence (manual or automatic) held for at least 12 months with no more than three penalty points.
- Demonstrate the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues to foster a positive team environment that enhances customer service.
- Display friendliness and a welcoming attitude towards both customers and team members.
- Adapt swiftly to changing customer needs and embrace flexibility both on the road and at the store.
