Job description
Terms of Employment
This position is a full-time, 12-month role eligible for comprehensive benefits. The work schedule runs from 3 PM to 11 PM, with a shift differential pay of $0.15 per hour. Work hours may fluctuate based on school events, summer duties, or adverse weather conditions. Overtime may sometimes be required.
Job Purpose
The custodian is tasked with general cleaning and upkeep of school facilities and grounds. Responsibilities include maintaining equipment to ensure it operates correctly and providing cleaning and custodial support to students, teachers, visitors, and other personnel as needed. Additional maintenance-related tasks will be performed as required.
Qualifications
- Experience or knowledge in cleaning and custodial activities is preferred.
- Ability to operate hand tools, machinery, and devices such as floor machines and vacuum cleaners is desirable.
- Physical capability to regularly lift, pull, or push 10 pounds, frequently handle 25 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds; passing a 50-pound lift test is mandatory.
- Effective communication skills to interact with students, staff, and the public.
- Ability to work cooperatively within a team environment.
