Custodian

About the Role

The Custodian position at VF involves ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and organization of a distribution center. This role supports daily operations by executing a variety of cleaning and sanitation tasks across warehouse, office, breakroom, restroom, and communal spaces. Maintaining facility standards is crucial to fostering a safe and productive workplace for all employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain warehouse floors utilizing sweepers, scrubbers, mops, and other relevant equipment.
• Empty trash and recycling bins regularly throughout the facility.
• Sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, breakrooms, training areas, and office spaces.
• Dust, wipe, and disinfect surfaces, including tables, fixtures, and frequently touched points.
• Clean windows, doors, walls, and additional surfaces as needed.
• Replenish janitorial supplies like paper products, soap, and sanitizers.
• Maintain clean aisles, staging zones, docks, and pedestrian walkways in the warehouse.
• Respond promptly to spills, leaks, and other housekeeping issues.
• Assist with appearance standards throughout shifts and support special cleaning projects or events.
• Properly collect and dispose of waste materials adhering to company protocols.
• Follow all safety policies and OSHA standards while using appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Report unsafe conditions or equipment issues immediately.
• Handle and store cleaning chemicals safely according to guidelines.
• Keep the janitorial storage area clean and organized.

Qualifications and Skills

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and follow straightforward work instructions.
• Capability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds during shifts.
• High attention to detail and dedication to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.
• Prior experience in janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or facility maintenance roles.
• Experience working within warehouse or distribution center environments is preferred.
• Skilled in operating floor scrubbers, sweepers, or similar custodial machinery.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range for this position is between $13.61 and $17.02 USD. Additionally, the role is eligible for extra compensation such as annual incentives or bonuses, with specifics provided during recruitment.

Work Schedule

Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
