Job description
Position Overview
Wilmar Sugar Australia Limited seeks a Crushing Assistant to become a vital part of its team at the Kalamia Mill, located in the Burdekin Region. This permanent position involves working shifts throughout the crushing season, which includes weekends and the option for overtime, as well as day shifts during periods of maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
The Crushing Assistant will operate turbines along the milling train and continuously monitor equipment such as shredders and alternators to ensure optimal performance. Reliable operation and maintenance vigilance are essential parts of the role.
Required Skills and Attributes
- Ability to collaborate effectively within team settings
- Commitment to workplace safety and promoting safe practices among colleagues
- Clear and constructive communication skills
- Provide frequent and precise operational feedback to Operations Coordinators addressing station performance and quality concerns
Qualifications and Licenses
While training support is available for suitable candidates demonstrating aptitude and good cultural fit, applicants should ideally possess the following certifications:
- Turbine High Risk Work Licence
- Working at Heights Ticket
- Confined Space Ticket
Desirable additional certificates include:
- Front End Loader Ticket
- Overhead Crane Ticket
- Maintenance skills, including trade qualifications or licences in rigging, dogging, or scaffolding
