Collaborating closely with sales, accounts, and operations teams, you will foster strong customer relationships while ensuring credit policies are adhered to and billing queries are efficiently resolved.

Responsibilities

  • Manage outstanding debts across client accounts through phone, email, and regular follow-ups.
  • Allocate payments accurately by posting and reconciling bank transfers, cheques, and other receipts against individual accounts promptly.
  • Assess credit applications of new and current customers by analyzing financial status, setting credit limits, and monitoring credit risks.
  • Work with account managers and customer service to quickly address and resolve any invoice disputes or billing issues.
  • Prepare regular aging debt reports, cash flow forecasts, and analyze DSO metrics for senior leadership.
  • Identify and manage high-risk or overdue accounts, coordinating escalations, legal actions, or involvement of third party collection agencies as necessary.
  • Ensure strict compliance with company credit control policies, Irish commercial credit regulations, and internal procedures.

Qualifications and Skills

  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in Credit Control, Accounts Receivable, or Collections within Ireland.
  • Ability to work on-site five days a week at our Cork office.
  • Proficiency with major ERP or accounting software such as SAP, Sage, Oracle, MS Dynamics, or Xero.
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities with a history of firm but tactful negotiations.
  • Excellent numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and systematic approach to resolving conflicts or queries.

Preferred Attributes

  • Relevant certifications such as IICM in credit or finance are advantageous.
  • Experience in fast-paced corporate, manufacturing, distribution, or shared services industries.
  • Self-driven and capable of working independently within an on-site team environment.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary ranging from 40,000 to 50,000 annually depending on experience.
  • On-site parking available.
  • Opportunities for annual performance-based bonuses.
  • Support for continuous professional development and career growth.
