The Craftsman – Metal Setting role in the jewelry industry involves expertly embedding precious stones or gems into metal mountings to create polished jewelry pieces. This position is crucial for maintaining smooth production flow within the department while ensuring top-quality output and on-time, in-full delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive 100% on-time and in-full product delivery, maintaining minimum 98% operational efficiency with zero rejection rate.
• Control losses including gold, platinum, and minimize diamond breakages during metal setting processes.
• Perform precise stone-setting using various techniques such as prong, bezel, pavé, channel, or bead setting to secure gems in metal designs aesthetically and structurally.
• Repair damaged or broken jewelry by replacing stones, fixing prongs and settings to restore piece functionality and appearance.
• Manipulate different metals like gold, silver, platinum, or alloys to craft suitable stone settings ensuring durability and security.
• Inspect finished jewelry thoroughly to confirm stone placement is flawless and meet quality standards.
• Achieve established targets related to first time acceptance rates and productivity levels.
• Maintain health and safety standards within the workplace by complying with safety norms as instructed.

Key Performance Indicators

• Complete daily metal setting production tasks in accordance with protocols.
• Ensure zero percentage breakage rates for metal and diamonds.

Competencies and Technical Skills

• Comprehensive knowledge of various precious metal alloys, diamonds, and gemstones.
• Ability to interpret and annotate design notes accurately.
• Capable of documenting defects and maintaining job sheets meticulously.
• Proficient with usage of equipment including microscopes, jewelry loupes, opti-visors, and jewelry lamps.

Role Requirements

• Any educational qualification with a diploma in designing or relevant experience in jewelry designing.
• Experience ranging from 3 to 9 years in metal setting or jewelry manufacturing.
• Previous hands-on experience in the jewelry sector is essential.

Compensation and Industry

• Annual compensation package between 360,000 to 420,000 INR.
• This role is situated within the jewelry manufacturing industry.
