Position Overview

As a Courier at FedEx, you will be responsible for delivering, sorting, and collecting packages efficiently and respectfully, ensuring all shipments comply with company standards. This role demands timely and precise handling of packages, including conducting thorough inspections and paperwork completion to adhere to FedEx Express service features.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately pick up, inspect, sort and deliver assigned packages on schedule.
• Seek additional business opportunities from existing customers and forward potential leads to management or sales personnel.
• Communicate any changes in customer usage or competitor activities to relevant supervisors.
• Verify package labeling, legality, weight, size, wrapping, insurance, hazardous material requirements, and customs documentation compliance.
• Prepare accurate paperwork related to pick-ups and deliveries, such as airway bills and tax/duty invoices.
• Maintain security of FedEx and customer property including cash, packages, vehicles, and hazardous materials.
• Adhere strictly to safety policies to ensure personal and operational security.
• Operate vehicles safely and in compliance with local regulations and company policies.
• Provide suggestions for process improvements to enhance productivity.
• Collect necessary customs-related invoices when applicable.
• Ensure customers have sufficient FedEx shipping materials.
• Maintain a professional appearance and keep vehicles clean and well-maintained.

Candidate Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license appropriate for assigned vehicle as per regional laws.
• Good driving record and safety awareness.
• Clean, neat appearance with strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Minimum age of 21 years.
• Successful completion of basic skills tests including reading, map reading, sorting, and mathematics.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs (32 kg) and maneuver single packages up to 150 lbs (68 kg) using proper equipment.
• Customer-focused with strong organizational abilities.
• Willingness to work varied shifts.
• Basic proficiency in English is preferred.
