Job Location and Schedule

This position is based at 2245 Douglas Rd, Burnaby, BC V5C 5A9, with a work schedule of 40 hours per week, requiring flexibility.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage is $22.12, increasing to $25.07 after three months, with further annual increments culminating at $37.38 per hour after 48 months.

Role Summary

The Utility Courier is tasked with picking up and delivering customer packages to adhere to daily schedules, resolving issues as they occur, and covering shifts of absent couriers across various work shifts.

Responsibilities

• Collect and deliver packages following the daily pick-up and delivery itinerary.
• Scan packages and mail upon receipt, delivery, or return to the depot.
• Address and resolve any issues encountered during transit in coordination with Dispatch and customers.
• Perform vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections using a package scanner and electronic Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (E-DVIR).
• Inform the unit manager promptly if the vehicle inspection identifies problems.

Qualifications and Skills

• High School diploma or equivalent completion.
• Vocational and business courses typically offered at the high school level.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license held for a minimum of three years with a clean driving record.
• Proficiency in domestic shipping, courier services, and shipping and receiving operations.
• Fluency in English is necessary due to frequent communication with multiple stakeholders.

Working Environment

The role involves working on the road and within warehouse settings.
