About SpaceX and the Role

SpaceX was founded on the vision of expanding humanity's presence among the stars, making space exploration an exciting frontier. Presently, SpaceX is advancing technologies aimed at enabling human life on Mars. One of its pioneering projects, Starlink, operates a satellite constellation delivering low-latency broadband internet globally.

As a Telecommunications Counsel, you will play a critical role in advising the Starlink team on telecommunications laws and regulations across Europe and parts of Africa to facilitate business compliance and licensing.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice regarding telecommunications and internet service regulations affecting the Starlink business in Europe and African regions.
• Assess and communicate regulatory and legal risks to both business and technical teams, enabling compliance and supporting telecommunications licensing efforts.
• Stay updated on legal and policy changes impacting Starlink's operations.
• Serve as liaison with government agencies on regulatory, consumer protection, and law enforcement issues as required.

Required Qualifications

• At least five years of professional experience in regulatory compliance within telecommunications, specifically related to broadband or satellite services.
• Possess a Juris Doctor, Bachelor of Laws, or an equivalent accredited law degree.
• Must hold an active legal practice license in at least one jurisdiction.

Preferred Expertise

• Proficiency in French and/or Portuguese languages.
• Familiarity with telecommunications regulatory matters beyond the United States.
• Experience handling legal affairs for a rapidly growing multinational company.

Additional Requirements

• This opportunity is located in Dublin, Ireland, and requires full onsite presence; remote or hybrid work arrangements are not permitted.
• Availability to work extended hours and weekends when necessary.
