About the Role
Airswift, a global workforce solutions provider serving the energy, process, and infrastructure sectors, is looking for a seasoned Cost Estimation Lead to join a prominent Oil & Gas company based in Qatar. With extensive operational reach in over 50 countries and thousands of professionals worldwide, Airswift links top talent to projects that demand precision and expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with project teams and contractors to generate both classified and unclassified cost estimates along with confidence packages.
- Supervise and assess contractor performance regarding cost estimating and controls to ensure achievement of project goals.
- Create and implement cost estimating plans and strategies tailored to project requirements.
- Develop, communicate, and enforce standard processes, procedures, and methodologies related to cost estimation.
- Oversee cost estimate plan preparation, review, and the stewardship of cost control operations.
- Generate detailed cost estimates during the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) phase of projects.
- Manage Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) processes to develop Estimation Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS).
- Evaluate contractor change proposals and internally prepare estimates for variations and scope changes.
- Establish performance metrics, benchmarking standards, and reporting structures to promote top-tier cost estimation performance.
- Execute quantity take-offs from Civil, Structural, Piping, Electrical diagrams, and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Utilize appropriate unit rates, productivity metrics, and estimating techniques to produce accurate cost figures.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost management throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Marketing, Sciences, Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain, Law, Communications, Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- A minimum of eight years' experience in a business-centric function or related discipline.
- At least four years of professional experience within the Oil & Gas sector.
- One or more years in a supervisory, leadership, or oversight capacity.
- Demonstrated experience in managing contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and service providers.
- Strong commercial acumen, analytical capabilities, and ability to manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
- Capability to function efficiently within a multidisciplinary project environment.
- Exceptional skills in communication, coordination, and reporting.
