Job description
Job Purpose
The Corporate Buyer is accountable for ensuring efficient daily procurement operations across the organization by applying best practices and strict adherence to internal policies and processes. The role involves identifying optimal suppliers to meet business demands, coordinating between various internal departments and external vendors, and guaranteeing timely procurement deliverables.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and manage sourcing activities for ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Develop and execute strategies for suppliers and categories based on prioritized business needs.
- Conduct supplier negotiations to secure cost reductions without sacrificing quality.
- Maintain and nurture long-term supplier relationships.
- Finalize contracts and update agreement templates in coordination with the legal team.
- Continuously benchmark and explore new opportunities for cost reduction both inside and outside the market.
- Perform regular market and trend analyses to discover new supplier options.
- Engage with internal divisions to forecast future procurement needs for proactive sourcing involvement.
- Create and implement supplier evaluation processes and category strategies.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders across operations, project management, finance, and procurement control.
- Provide support to the procurement department as necessary.
- Introduce innovative approaches for negotiations, contracts, analysis tools, and market assessments.
Work Environment and Impact
- Operate in a complex environment with diverse products and services.
- Adapt to evolving organizational structures and non-synchronized policies.
- Manage procurement effectively despite the absence of a centralized supplier/purchase database.
- Directly influence cost savings and budget improvements.
- Coordinate closely with internal departments such as finance and operations and with external vendors.
- May require travel or commuting between company divisions and supplier locations.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- More than three years of procurement experience.
- Experience in retail and distribution sectors is highly desirable.
- Proven background in change management and the implementation of new procedures and policies.
- Familiarity with ERP systems.
- Track record of successful cost reduction achievements.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to adapt quickly.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and systematic thinking abilities.
- Self-motivated, goal-driven, innovative, and proactive.
- Proficiency in English.
- Advanced computer skills, particularly in MS Office suite and SAP or equivalent ERP software.
