Role Overview

The Coordinator – Asset Management plays a vital role in supporting the Smelter’s asset management processes. This position centers on analyzing asset performance, ensuring asset health, and optimizing maintenance strategies to enhance equipment reliability, availability, and cost efficiency throughout its lifecycle. Close collaboration with Engineering, Maintenance, Planning, and Operations teams is essential to achieve consistent asset optimization and adherence to company standards.

Key Duties

  • Facilitate implementation and upkeep of the Smelter Asset Management Framework alongside the Group Asset Management Team.
  • Assist in creating and managing asset strategies for crucial smelter machinery and facilities.
  • Track asset health metrics to detect reliability risks and improvement areas.
  • Maintain detailed asset registers, hierarchies, criticality assessments, and lifecycle data.
  • Organize regular asset condition evaluations and health reviews.
  • Contribute to long-term planning for asset replacements, refurbishments, and capital renewals.
  • Participate in asset risk assessments and develop mitigation tactics.
  • Analyze lifecycle expenses and advise on optimization initiatives.
  • Ensure accuracy of asset data within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Support engineering departments in preparing asset upgrade proposals and improvement projects.
  • Continuously monitor equipment reliability by tracking KPIs and analyzing performance data.
  • Gather and evaluate asset reliability, availability, maintainability, and utilization statistics.
  • Assist in Root Cause Failure Analyses, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, and related studies.
  • Identify repeated equipment faults and actively support reliability enhancement measures.
  • Support the deployment of preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance schemes.
  • Prepare and present periodic asset performance and reliability reports for management review.
  • Use data from systems like PI and RtDUET to pinpoint reliability improvement opportunities.
  • Utilize data analysis tools to interpret engineering and process data for actionable insights.
  • Develop and maintain asset performance dashboards and reports, leveraging Power BI and similar tools.
  • Maintain key performance indicators and scorecards for asset management.
  • Assist in data gathering and analysis to support budget planning and asset-related decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs and enhance efficiency through asset data analytics.
  • Contribute to digital asset management projects and asset analytics platforms implementation.
  • Generate asset performance reports monthly, quarterly, and annually in alignment with Group standards.
  • Support ongoing reviews and optimization of maintenance strategies for vital equipment.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of preventive maintenance programs, recommending improvements.
  • Assist with critical equipment evaluations and maintenance task analyses.
  • Collaborate with maintenance planners and engineers to update asset strategies and refine work management processes.
  • Contribute to spare parts optimization by analyzing equipment criticality and maintenance history.
  • Provide asset performance data to support shutdown planning activities.
  • Identify and promote enhancements in asset performance, maintenance efficiency, and lifecycle cost management.
  • Participate in continuous improvement programs using structured methodologies.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams on asset improvement initiatives.
  • Benchmark existing asset management activities against industry best practices.
  • Track and report benefits of implemented improvements.
  • Encourage a culture focused on reliability, operational excellence, and continuous enhancement.
  • Ensure full compliance with company and legal safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) standards.
  • Exhibit leadership in fostering a safe work environment and promote safe asset management practices.
  • Integrate asset management activities with safety and environmental protocols.
  • Participate actively in risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective measures as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Asset Management or Reliability Engineering certification is advantageous.
  • Advanced training in Power BI or analytics is a plus.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in maintenance, reliability, or asset management within the mining or mineral processing sector; experience in smelting is favorable.
  • Proven track record in designing and implementing asset management strategies, maintenance frameworks, and reliability initiatives.
  • Experience in data-driven report and KPI development, asset monitoring, and reliability improvements.
  • Skilled in Root Cause Analysis and asset strategy enhancement.
  • Competent in managing preventive and condition-based maintenance programs.
  • Proficient with Power BI and digital asset management technologies.
  • Strong communication, planning, and organizational abilities.
  • Experience with CMMS solutions like PRONTO or SAP and expertise in MS Office tools.
  • Familiarity with ISO 55000 Asset Management standards is preferred.
