Cooks Assistant

Position Overview

We invite you to develop your culinary skills by joining our team as a Cooks Assistant at Essie Summers Retirement Village located in Beckenham, Christchurch. This full-time opportunity requires working Tuesday through Saturday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. In this position, you will help prepare and present nutritious, high-quality meals for our residents while collaborating closely with fellow kitchen staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Chefs in preparing wholesome, well-presented food for residents.
• Participate actively in food preparation and presentation tasks.
• Work in teamwork-oriented environment to assist colleagues and ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Candidate Profile

• Possession of or willingness to attain New Zealand Certificate in Cookery (level 3).
• Demonstrable experience with food preparation.
• Dependable, approachable, and professional demeanor.
• Strong dedication to maintaining food hygiene and cleanliness standards.
