Cook III

Position Overview

The Cook III role involves preparing ingredients for cooking such as chopping, portioning, and storing foods. Responsibilities include washing and peeling fresh fruits and vegetables, accurately weighing and mixing ingredients, and cooking foods following recipes and quality guidelines. You'll prepare cold dishes, operate various kitchen appliances like ovens and grills, test food doneness, and monitor food quality throughout preparation. Maintaining cleanliness by washing and disinfecting kitchen areas, tools, and equipment is essential. Additionally, you'll verify appliance and food temperatures for food safety and quality.

Additional Duties

Other job tasks include setting up and dismantling workstations, serving appropriate food portions on suitable containers, and adhering to safety, hygiene, and company policies. You must report any safety hazards or equipment issues, complete required safety trainings, and maintain a professional appearance. Interpersonal skills are important to foster positive work relationships and contribute to team goals. The role requires physical activities such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting objects up to 25 pounds. Also, other reasonable duties may be assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate has at least one year of relevant work experience and possesses a high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.). There is no supervisory responsibility or certification required for this position.
