Cook / Commis (Saudi only)

Job Overview

We are seeking a Cook / Commis to join our team at JW Marriott in Jiddah, Saudi Arabia. This role is a non-management, full-time position requiring the preparation and cooking of food following quality and presentation standards within a professional kitchen setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare cooking ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, and storing food items.
• Measure and mix ingredients accurately as per recipes and cooking guidelines.
• Cook food items including cold dishes using ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
• Test the food to ensure proper cooking and monitor quality regularly.
• Set up and dismantle workstations before and after food preparation.
• Serve food in correct portions using appropriate containers.
• Maintain cleanliness by washing and disinfecting kitchen tools, equipment, and work areas.
• Verify appliance and food temperatures to ensure safety and quality.
• Adhere to company safety and security protocols, reporting maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to management.
• Maintain professional personal appearance and confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with team members and foster positive working relationships.
• Comply with quality standards and perform duties involving prolonged standing, sitting, walking, bending, lifting up to 25 pounds, and other physical activities as required.
• Perform any additional reasonable tasks requested by supervisors.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum educational qualification: High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
• At least one year of relevant work experience in food preparation or culinary roles.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific license or certification necessary.
