Job Overview
The Cafeteria Worker plays a vital role in preparing and serving meals and drinks to employees, ensuring all kitchen and serving areas are kept clean and sanitized according to safety and hygiene standards. This position operates under company policies and is essential for maintaining the smooth operation of our cafeteria services.
Work Schedule and Compensation
This role works Monday through Thursday, from 2 PM to 12:30 AM. The hourly pay is $16, plus a $0.50 shift premium.
Key Responsibilities
- Comply with all health and safety regulations.
- Evaluate and maintain the quality and appearance of food.
- Keep work areas clean, safe, and well organized.
- Report any incidents or issues promptly to supervisors.
- Ensure all safety equipment is properly installed and functional.
- Identify and suggest improvements for increased quality and efficiency.
- Adhere strictly to company personnel policies.
- Return on time from breaks and follow production schedules.
- Verify food meets quality specifications and is properly labeled.
- Adapt to changing tasks and demands as necessary.
- Provide general maintenance and follow instructions carefully.
- Support and train team members while fostering teamwork.
- Monitor unsafe behaviors and comply with OSHA guidelines.
- Wear required personal protective equipment such as earplugs, hairnets, beard-nets, protective eyewear, and slip-resistant footwear.
- Lead by example, uphold company values like being real, stewardship, and professionalism.
- Communicate effectively with peers and leaders to solve problems proactively.
Qualifications and Experience
- Preferably holds a High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience in casual or fine dining food preparation is beneficial.
Additional Information
The hourly pay range for this position is between $13.50 and $18.57, influenced by market data, internal equity, location, and candidate qualifications. Other benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance, life and disability coverage, 401k access, paid holidays, and vacation time.
Physical Requirements
The role requires standing for long hours and occasional lifting of items up to 50 pounds. Team members must wear protective gear and be able to perform tasks involving pushing, pulling, and reaching.
Work Environment
The position involves working in a plant with wet or slippery floors and variable temperatures averaging around 40°F. Employees will be exposed to raw or cooked meat products and machinery, requiring adherence to all food safety and quality protocols.
